Just as cauliflower can be served in a cheese sauce, you can turn out your leeks in this beautiful sauce with any main meal – especially a Sunday roast. Alternatively, serve with a baked potato. Happy St David’s Day!
Ingredients
- 2 leeks sliced and washed
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 tsp mustard
- a splash of olive oil
- salt and pepper to taste
- a tub of crème fraiche
- 1 clove of garlic
- a splash of dry white wine (optional)
Method
Steam the sliced leeks for 5 minutes. Then in a frying pan heat the crème fraiche, honey and mustard with the garlic. Do not allow to boil. Now add a splash of white wine if you wish. Add the leeks and simmer for a further 5 minutes.
